I am a UC San Diego graduate with a bachelors in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in the process of applying for medical school. As an undergraduate, I worked as an Instructional Assistant for four terms in Metabolic Biochemistry and General Chemistry with primary duties of leading 30-student discussion sections and providing one-on-one and small group tutoring to my students. Through my time working with students, I have learned to adapt to students’ strengths, weaknesses, and perspectives when it comes to understanding concepts in depth. I strongly believe that students should try and learn beyond the given information so that they may better grasp the mechanisms behind the ideas they are to learn and be able to apply strategies they learn in novel situations.
