Kevin
As both a teacher and a tutor at a public university with over 2,000 hours of experience working with students, I am confident in my ability to help you improve your grades in your classes. I approach teaching with a holistic view, focusing on explaining the motivations behind the topics we cover, discussing proven techniques to get your assignment done, and exploring ways to apply these skills in future situations, ensuring success in your future endeavors. I always approach my tutoring sessions with an upbeat and supportive attitude.
I have a master’s degree in computational linguistics and use these skills both in my work as a writing instructor at a university and as a tutor. I teach college level writing to first year students and professional writing to graduating college students. Additionally, I work as a writing tutor at a local university where I help clients with everything from college entry essays to PhD dissertations. Students I have tutored have raised their essay grades by an average of one letter grade in just a few sessions.
As a graduate student, I worked as a teaching assistant in my programming and linguistics classes, helping students to understand complex mathematical and computer science-related problems.
I am currently a law student, and scored a 170 on my LSAT, putting me in the 97th percentile for this test. I am happy to teach you the same techniques I used to achieve this score.
Additionally, I scored a 34 on my ACT due to my strong reading and analytical skills. I am happy to help you to get the score you deserve on this important test.
