Samantha
I am a fourth year UCLA student majoring in Psychobiology with a minor in Biomedical Research. I will be attending medical school next year with the hopes of becoming a physician in Internal Medicine.
I believe I would be an effective tutor because I am someone who is very friendly and approachable. I make it easy for people to feel comfortable and ask questions, and I am also very perceptive to when others’ are following what I am saying or may be losing focus or struggling to understand a concept. I am extremely patient and enjoy the challenge of approaching an issue from several angles. I mentor student researchers in complex lab techniques so I am adept at breaking a problem or concept down into smaller constituents and in using analogies to better explain things. I love learning and hearing others’ opinions and seeing students grow in learning and their confidence.
