Through seven years of tutoring, I’ve picked up methods to inspire virtually any kind of student. I’ve worked with students as young as first grade as a reading tutor for AmeriCorps, during which I was able to help students struggling the most reach, and in many cases surpass, the reading level of their peers. I worked with high school students for over three years at a private tutoring company where I helped countless individuals improve their grades in English classes and their scores on the SAT and ACT. I’ve also worked with college students as a writing tutor for UC Berkeley, where I helped students at every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to organizing to editing. I’ve even worked with many adult ESL students who wanted to improve their English. I’ve learned that there are many different learning styles and different kinds of frustrations that each require a modified approach. I like to think that, thanks to all of my diverse experience, I’m able to adapt well to the specific needs to each student.
